An Introduction

Every position has an important role, in every sport; however, many disregard one important place on the fields of Soccer - This place is home to the Full-Back. After the 1994 World Cup, it was claimed that the most important attacking player was the full-back - which any individual that watches Soccer would surely remark "that's impossible, they are in the back as defense" - yet it's entirely true. Any good offense is fueled by a good defense, and, by having a good full-back, it will make it seem like there's another man on the field fueling the attack, leading any team to victory.

This blog will provide informative tips and tricks to play as a successful Full-back, and I will discuss some of my own experiences in my many years of playing Right-Back in club soccer, street soccer, indoor soccer, and more.

  1. Taylor, a very interesting start on your blog about the sport of soccer – specifically, on the position of full-back. I totally agree with you when you stated, that in any sport, a good offense is fueled by a good defense. After all, where would one be without the other? I’d also be interested in reading more about the game itself. What year was the soccer invented and where? I'd also be interested in learning about when soccer became a professional sport; when the professional leagues started, etc. Are there any particular countries that enjoy the sport as much (or more) as the US? Italy and England come to mind but I’m sure that there are more. You’re off to a great start with your blog; I’m looking forward to returning soon to read (and learn) more! Mrs. A.
